Penang Hill With A New Look!

It was 10am in the morning, my classmate from Bukit Mertajam drove to my house and our plan was to climb up to the Penang Hill for ICE KACANG and lunch and walk down the hill. Sounds great? It was not an easy job. The government put a signboard at the entrance to the Penang Hill, written 5km of slopes! And there are small signboards counting the distance you have travelled along the journey.. It was so tiring! Two of us were dying when we have climbed for 1km, we were deciding whether to go down or to continue the long journey. Haha. At last, we decided to go up with our determination! LOL.. Time flies very fast, and we have climbed for 4km without knowing, the ice kacang was a great motivation for us to go up to the hill top.. We took about 90 minutes to reached the top of the hill and I was quite shocked from what I saw, IS THIS A NEW PENANG HILL? Haha.. I can't see the food court that I used to eat the ice kacang two years ago.. But I did see a newly built wood-made building.. Amazingly, the building consists of an OWL MUSEUM (1st in Asia I think), and Food Court! The 'GROUND FLOOR' sells Food, 'BASEMENT 1' sells souvenirs and drinks and ICE KACANG! While the 'BASEMENT 2' is the Owl Museum. I was quite happy to see this improvement in Penang Hill and I keep telling my friend, our MR. LIM GUAN ENG did a good job. HAHA.. We ordered an ICE KACANG which costed RM4, and a NASI LEMAK which costed RM6 (expensive nasi lemak).. There are some changes because the Food Court has now became PORK FREE, so the old stalls selling Char Koay Teow, Hokkien Char and the other Chinese stalls have been removed. The only Chinese there are selling ICE KACANG only.. Sad case huh? Problem came when we finished our meal - we are going to walk down? or we are going to take the cable car down to Air Itam, go to Komtar by Rapid and back to Botanic Garden to get our motorcycles by Rapid. At first, we decided to walk down, but 10 seconds after the decision made, we walked to the Cable Car station.. 10 minutes to the the 'GROUND' in Air Itam, 2 HOURS to the Botanic Garden by Rapid? Long Live SLOW Rapid Penang? It was okay because I am not taking bus everyday.. Sorry to Yan Ping, Kelly and Cheng Cheng.. Haha.. We met 2 foreign tourists in the bus and they were heading to Botanic Garden too, they asked us why our bus goes round round but not to Botanic Garden, we just replied 'we are almost there' and they smiled to us.. It was quite a wonderful and interesting day because I am in HOLIDAY... Hehe.. My fellow friends, maybe we can do it again next time! THE ICE KACANG WAS REALLY NICE! =)
